-When I was a young PFC, I once said Thank You to an old Gunny...He barked at me, Dont thank me...Uncle Sam thanks me twice a month when the Green Eagle shits on my head and that is all the thanks I need! -Based on that and other experiences I can tell you Marines have always done More with Less but never have we asked them to do it for less money. What a Travesty! The Brass are obliously OBLIVIOUS to the lives of the troops. Cut their Pay...Cut their Health Care...Cut their Commisary Benefits...But heavens help us if we cut a pet program of one of my Defense Contractor Buddies (Whom I plan on working for when I retire with my 6 figure Flag Level Officer Retirement)... -What really needs to be cut is the EXTRA BRASS and the SESs that do nothing for our readiness...To many Senior Staff Pougues building Power Point Slides...Secretaries Gates & Pannetta laid out a plan to reuce their numbers, but to my knowledge that has not happened yet... -I will close this rant off with one last thought...If you think you have disipline problems in the lower ranks now...Just wait until they are all holding down 2nd jobs to make ends, showing up late for formations and falling asleep during training.
