Hernandez, 23, of Brawley, and Jose Saucedo, 30, of Imperial, were identified as two of the motorist involved in a traffic collision at approximately 8:15 p.m. Wednesday on Dogwood and Cole roads, according to a California Highway Patrol press release. The men were traveling north on Dogwood Road toward Cole Road in a 2003 yellow Ford van, when the driver of a 2005 black Ford truck traveling south on Dogwood Road turned his vehicle to the left in front of the van causing the two vehicles to collide, according to the press release. The driver of the black truck was a 16-year-old male from Calexico, who suffered moderate injuries and complained of head and back pain, according to the press release. Saucedo, who was driving the van, also suffered moderate injuries and complained of head, neck, back, face, knees and hand pain, according to the press release. Hernandez’s injuries were described as major in the press release, although no description was given. All three motorists were wearing seatbelts, and the collision is still under investigation.
