008 Bargaining Unit Update June 12, 2013 Your 008 bargaining team met with the County on June 12, 2013 with the expectation that there would be a meaningful exchange of initial contract proposals. UPE proposed a two-year contract with cost of living adjustments and no reduction in health or pension benefits. UPE also presented language to streamline the grievance procedure, clarify seniority and improve member access to union representation. The County had no proposals of their own to make, nor did they respond to the union’s proposals. The next bargaining meeting is scheduled for June 26, four days before the contract expires. The County budget for the next fiscal year is now in place, and it’s time for the County to come to the table and show us the money.
