05.09.13 Thursday Open 1st Eddie Burton 6 43 2nd Simon Swaby 11 39 3rd Ken McClintock 21 38* Visitor James Lindsay (North West) 1 38 *Break of tie Burton is Topman Eddie Burton (6) was the clear winner of Thursday’s Weekly Open at Prehen having headed both the nett and gross sections with his superbly compiled 43 points and of course his immediate return to category one status after just one week in category two. Simon Swaby (11) recovered well from a shaky double bogey start at the first to record 39 points for second place a single point ahead of early starter Ken McClintock (21) who needed a favourable tie break for his prize. Best of the visitors was the prodigiously long hitting James Lindsay (1) from North West with 38 points. To illustrate this fact more clearly he reached the 14th hole “Aintree” on a day with absolutely no run using his driver and a pitching wedge. Results & report: Robbie Kennelly Competitions Convenor
