07/04/14 SINGLES AND EW DOUBLE IS WINDSOR NAP 1540 WESTMINISTER REDCAR NAP 1550 CLOVERDALE MIGHT REVISE PICKS WHEN GET HOLD OF RACING POST, BUT THESE ARE DONE WITH ATR AND SPORTING LIFE **************************************************************************** WINDSOR PICKS (MAIDENS ARE DANGEROUS AS NEWCOMERS COULD BE ANYTHING SO WATCH MARKET MOVEMENT) 1410 MAGICAL ROUNDABOUT (MAIDEN RACE YARD 2/3 WITH 2 YEAR OLDS AND FROM A YARD WHICH HAVE WON 4 OUT OF THE LAST 6 RENEWALS, ONLY PROBLEM IS STALL 13) Richard Hannon senior won this race four times in the last six years and his namesake son looks to have very strong claims with MAGICAL ROUNDABOUT. The son of Zebedee is related to a host of winners and could prove hard to beat. 1440 STAR CODE (MORE OF A SPRINTER AND FAILED AT 8F SO A RETURN TO SPRINTING DISTANCES WILL HELP) Built on debut promise to score at Epsom (6f) in September. Better than bare result when failing to see out 1m at Kempton the following month, and interesting contender now back sprinting on return. 1510 LUHAIF (EXPOLITS LOWER TURF MARK) Front runner who proved himself every bit as good for new yard this year prior to a poor effort at Lingfield last month, but capable of exploiting lower turf mark if anywhere near best. 1540 WESTMINSTER EW DOUBLE (WON AT SOUTHWELL IMPRESSIVELY AND LOOKED LIKE A FASTER TRACK WOULD SUIT WHEN I WATCHED THE REPLAY) NAP Vastly improved switched to fibresand when opening account in a 7f Southwell maiden in December. Longer trip no problem and interesting contender now going handicapping on turf. 1610 CANNOCK CHASE (MAIDEN RACE, VERY EXPENSIVE HORSES CANNOCK CHASE created a favourable impression when chasing home Pearl Spectre at Kempton and the winner has gone on to score again, giving the form a very solid feel 1640 SIGNIFICANT MOVE (WON THIS RACE LAST YEAR AND HAS A DECENT RECORD OVER 10F AT WINDSOR) Made a successful reappearance in this race last year. Even better when adding another C&D win to tally in the summer, and sound claims of repeating the dose if as effective without headgear. 1710 CIVIL WAR (FATHER AND SON PARTNERSHIP AND THIS ALSO HAS A LOWER TURF MARK Civil War is interesting starting out for these connections on the level off a lower mark and looks the one to side with in a competitive finale ************************************************************************ REDCAR 1420 PADDY AGAIN (MAIDEN RACE, RAN WELL IN THE BROCKLESBY AND THIS STABLE ARE VERY KNOWN FOR THEIR JUVENILES) By Moss Vale out of a half-sister to smart 10.5f/11.5f winner Sasanuma. Very cheap purchase but produced a promising first effort when runner-up in the Brocklesby and may go one better here. PADDY AGAIN ran a cracking race in the Brocklesby on the opening day of the turf season and Bill Turners filly can use that race experience to her advantage here 1450 SOUL INSTINCT (WON A CLASS 5 OVER 6F ON A MARK 68, RUNNING OF 59 IN A SELLING CONTEST, WILL TAKE ON THE FAVOURITE DODINA) 1520 ROUGH COURTE (HAS THE EXPERIENCE AND SHOULD MAKE IT 7 TH TIME LUCKY) Had plenty of chances last year, but performed largely with credit, making the frame 6 times in total. 1550 CLOVERDALE (WON IMPRESSIVELY L.T.O AND I THINK THIS WILL TAKE ALL THE BEATING) NAP Pivotal half-sister to 2-y-o 1m winner Red Spider. Created a good impression when making a successful racecourse debut at Southwell (7f) last month and entitled to improve plenty for that experience. 1620 LATIN CHARM (WON HIS MAIDEN OVER C & D) Latin Charm stayed on well to land a C&D maiden in the autumn and starts this campaign from an attractive-looking mark. 1650 ELUSIVE GEROGE (RUNNER UP BOTH RACES CAN GO ONE BETTER WITH BENEFIT OF EXPERIENCE) Showed plenty when runner-up on debut at Wolverhampton (7f) in February and improved a little when filling the same spot at Kempton last month. Has more to come and can go one better here. 1720 ZANOUSKA (WON ON THE A.W OVER DISTANCE) Showed some promise on debut at Leicester (7f). Failed to build on that next time, but got off the mark when stepped up to this trip after 5 months off at Lingfield recently. Open to more improvement.
