1.Acts 3:19Repent ye therefore and be ye converted ,that your sins may be blotted out,when times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. 2.Acts 3:26Unto you first God ,having raised up his Son Jesus,sent him to bless you in turning away every one of you from his iniquities. 3.Romans 6:1-2What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid.How shall we , that are dead to sin ,live any longer therein? 4.Romans 6:22But now being made free from sin ,and become servants to God ,ye have your fruit unto holiness,and the end everlasting life. 5.1st Timothy 2:19Let every one that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 6.Acts 17:30 But now commands all men every where to repent. 7.Luke 13:3 I tell you,Nay but ,except ye repent ,ye shall all likewise perish. 8.Acts 20:21 Testifying both to the Jews and Greeks ,repentance toward God ,and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. Paul speaks of this repentance as being toward God.It is toward God because all sin is against God. A person cannot repent of his sins until he sees them in their relation to a holy God. Sin is evil in the sight of God and we must turn from sin and turn to Christ for true salvation from sin.And no one will repent of his sins until he is under conviction of sin by the work of the Holy Spirit. This is what is missing today with the modern gospel that avoids preaching repentance and calls on men simply to add Jesus to their sinful life ! Their is no deep conviction of sin ! No broken and contrite spirit ! Today there are many false converts still living in sin because they lacked true repentance and true faith in Christ ! We must pursue holiness each day and walk in the holy fear of God and hate sin.We must be diligent not to compromise with sin ! Flee sin and follow after righteousness!1st Tim.6:11But thou ,O man of God, flee these things and follow after righteousness ,godliness, faith , love ,patience ,meekness.Fight the good fight of faith ,lay hold on eternal life. When Christ saves us we receive a new life from above ! We receive a new mind-set and a new desire for holiness and a new sensitivity concerning sin ,meaning we now hate what we use to love which was sin and we have now within us a new desire to please God.Its called biblical salvation from sins bondage ! We forsake the old life and break with the past and depend on the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome sin and do Gods will. As believers we are set apart and now different because we are saved !Our focus and priorities must be His. The Father paid an enormous price to redeem us from sin .We were redeemed by the costly precious blood of Christ ,like that of a lamb without defect or blemish.Christ paid the debt we owed for breaking the righteous demands of the law.The perfect flawless One died for the ungodly in order to set us free and make us His own. So let us pursue a holy life that brings honor to the Holy One.
