1 Corinthians 7:22 And remember, if you were a slave when the Lord called you, you are now free in the Lord. And if you were free when the Lord called you, you are now a slave of Christ. This is an unbelievably profound directive that can change the way that you think about life. The effect of being truly submitted to Christ is to greatly diminish the importance of outward circumstances. In other words; no matter what your circumstances dictate to you, it is not nearly as important as what Jesus dictates to you. Look at the path of your life...maybe you werent supposed to live this long, maybe disease or sickness should have already sent you to your grave, maybe your situation growing up was absolutely horrible, maybe you never had anything and your parents were both deadbeats, maybe people told you your whole life that you would never amount to anything and that you are stupid...look at you now though. Your circumstances are not the determining factor! There is something else going on behind the scenes that has more power. When we truly submit ourselves as slaves of Christ, we take the responsibility of the outcome of our lives out of our own hands and trust Him to do with us whatever He wills. Whatever He has planned for us. We know that is a good plan, plans to prosper us and not harm us,a plan to give us hope and a future. If we do things our own way and try to make things happen that are part of our plan and not necessarily part of His plan, then we are asking God to remove His hand of blessing from our lives because We can take it from here...even though we are His kids, He has no obligation to us to bless that kind of life. BUT!!! If we are truly submitted to Him...as slaves of Christ...We are causing His hand to move in our favor. He is obligated to bless that kind of life, He is obligated by His own Word...which is always true. Our submission is so much more important than our circumstances!!!
