1. He is Right there in the Storms And the Lord replied, “I will personally go with you, Moses. I will give you rest – everything will be fine for you.” Ex:33:14(NLT) The promise land certainly flows with “milk and honey”, but the path is through the wilderness. Jesus had a glorious and impactful ministry but not without the wilderness experience. This affirms the statement: there can be no crown without a cross. So, as you advance in life, be prepared for the storms. In the Gospel of Mark we read: “He said to them, let us cross over to the other side…. And a great windstorm arose, and the wave beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and told Him, teacher, do you not care that we are perishing? Then he arose and rebuked the wind and there was a great calm. But He said to them, why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith? And they said to one another, who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him! (Mark 4:35-41 NKJV). The above scripture presents two basic lessons you learn only in life’s storms: 1. You must trust what God has told you. When Jesus said, let us cross over to the other side, there wasn’t a noticeable wave big enough to take them under. However, soon as they advanced, a great storm arose; your advancement in life will attract great storm. God sees the end of every matter from the beginning. Standing on what God said may not keep you from getting scared or soaked, but it will sure keep you from sinking. 2. You must remind yourself who’s in the boat with you. If the Lord can calm a storm, He can prevent one. So, when He allows you to go through storms, it’s to show you that you don’t have a problem He can’t solve. You may be powerless in the situation He’s not. Sometimes, through your experience you will come to know Him in a way you have not known Him before. He has said I will personally go with you and will give you rest. No matter what you see along the way, you must always remind yourself the Master of the way, the Master of the storm is there with you. You may not feel Him or see him, but He is right there with you. Sometimes it may appear as if He is quiet or sleeping over your matter, but He is right there. Hebrews 13:5b says I will never leave you nor forsake you. With the master in your boat, you can never sink no matter the storm, hold on to His words and you will sail through. No matter the storm, you will come out stronger on the other side. Shalom! Your Shepherd Rev. Samson Ozovehe
