1. How tree planting become part of my life mission - I was born into farmer family. Like other rural children, my life both during work and play was surrounded by nature. Swimming in stream, collecting firewood in forest, harvesting wildflower and fruits in nature are some of the activities that have great impact on my love of nature and commitment to plant more trees. When I was young, I like reading book about Khmer literature mostly written in 18th to 19th century. In the stories mostly written in poetry form, the writers normally mentioned the beauty of nature so vividly that sometime I have to re-read the line several time before reading more. - In 1995, I began my first job with CWS as Community Developed Worker. It was during the first 3 or 4 year of my works with CWS that I could relate how important the trees were on the life of people and began to plant trees. - One of the topics in the training related with analysis development issues that CWS sent me to attend, we discuss about the impact of deforestation. It was that topic that challenges me to think deeply about the impact of deforestation in Cambodia. - The picture of hunger vultures waiting to eat the very skinny people at the peak famine in one country in Africa because of long civil war and deforestation pushed me to take action to counter the deforestation in Cambodia - In 1998 , I began my tree planting
