1. National Disaster Response Force has rescued 49,990 people up till now. 2. Today i.e. on 14-09-2014, five mobile medical units have been opened by NDRF in Srinagar which have treated 1200 patients. In continuation of the post disaster airlifting of food, 60,000 food packets consisting of ganchia, makka, chevda and sookhadi were despatched. Besides this 3.3 MT consisting of Namkeen, biscuits and bread were sent. 15 tonnes of dry food consisting of gur,chevda, roasted gram and biscuits were sent. Further 5.5 tons of roasted gram was also airlifted. Thus the total food airlifted today was 60,000 food packets and 23.83 tonnes. 50,000 drinking water bottles were also airlifted. The 4 Mobile Water Purifier RO Systems which had been airlifted to Srinagar, have all become functional and have produced 3 lakh litres of water today .The 2 Water Purifier RO systems provided by Indian Red Cross have also become functional and have produced 50,000 L of water. Efforts are on to install 6 more such RO systems. 3. To provide relief to the flood ravaged J&K, up till now 12.6 lakh food packets, three lakh biscuit packets, 388.83 tonnes ready to eat food, nam keen, bread et cetera have been airlifted. Besides this 5 MTs milk powder, 7000 L milk and 10.77 lakh water bottles and sachets have been airlifted too. In addition, 2000 tents and 8200 blankets, 500 Mobile chargers, 3450 solar lanterns, 1000 kitchen sets have been sent for distribution to the valley. 4. NDMA has sought the assistance of corporate sector for tents, blankets and medicines which will be required in large quantity once water starts receding post draining out of the flood waters. NDMA is dedicated to putting in its optimum efforts in assisting the stakeholders in providing relief and in bringing back the flood affected parts of J&K to normalcy. NDMA 14-09-2014
