1 Peter 3:9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. At times we are treated unfairly even down right disrespected by others. Our first instinct is to strike back. Get them back for what they have done to me. This processing may often times begin a process of tit for tat, which may go on for years. Sometimes we allow the other person to control us emotionally. We can be doing fine and as soon as they walk into the room our stomach knots up. We try to look cool and act like we are not bothered this person has entered the room. The other may be just as bothered that you are there too. Evil begets evil. John 14:1 let not your hearts be troubled........God never tells to do any that He has not already equipped us to do. If we rest God fights the battle for us and we are victorious all the time. 1 Peter 3:9 tells us that we may inherit the blessing. THE BLESSING IS AN EMPOWERMENT TO SUCCEED. God is telling us if you calm down I will see to it that you succeed.
