1 Timothy 1:12-14 I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me - TopicsExpress

1 Timothy 1:12-14 I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service. Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. Today Paul remembers the man he once was, and expresses gratitude to the God who extended to him grace beyond measure. Paul shows us a right heart here and gives us a great example in remembering what the Lord has done for us, and allowing that truth to act as a foundation to our ongoing faith in Christ Jesus alone. Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” We cannot live lives that honor God without remembering His furious grace and mercy.
