1 Timothy 1:3-7 3 When I left for Macedonia, I urged you to stay there in Ephesus and stop those whose teaching is contrary to the truth. 4 Don’t let them waste their time in endless discussion of myths and spiritual pedigrees. These things only lead to meaningless speculations, which don’t help people live a life of faith in God. 5 The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith. 6 But some people have missed this whole point. They have turned away from these things and spend their time in meaningless discussions. 7 They want to be known as teachers of the law of Moses, but they don’t know what they are talking about, even though they speak so confidently. Good morning Child of God. When do we know what someone is telling us, is the truth? The truth in the gospel they preach. God warns us of false prophets, telling half truths. So how will we really know if that person is right or wrong? Our pastor tells us, to never believe what has been said, until you receive confirmation from God, about what has been said. So listen, take note, and put it up on a shelf until God says that is the truth, but that process can some times take a while, there is other factors that we can look at. How is that person living, leading their lives? Is it according to the will of God, or the world. Paul says that we must have love that comes from a pure heart. And when you serve the world, it would not be possible to have a pure heart, clear conscience, and genuine faith. The love of God will flow through you, to others. So when you look and hear, and your inner most, says yes, then you use that preaching in your own life. When you feel negative, you can for sure know that it is not coming from God. Be blessed in all you do and say on your path with God. Dankie Janice
