Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears Scripture makes it clear that the end times will be marked by deception and apostasy. For thousands of years, the remnant has understood that speaking in tongues was a gift of foreign language given to the early disciples and apostles for the express purpose of spreading the gospel throughout the world in accordance with the Great Commission. The modern day practice of speaking in tongues comes out of a heretical movement on Azusa Street known as the Azusa Street Revival. There is no debating this from a historical standpoint. And one would think if the claim of tongues being some kind of unknown babble was so Biblically clear and established like Pentecostals/Charismaniacs like to claim that there would be at least some evidence that it was a practice of the Church prior to Azusa Street, but there is none! Shouldnt this be enough to make people question the validity of this doctrine? God is not the author of confusion! (1Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.) He said the gates of hell would not prevail against His Church ( Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.)! Surely if this nonsense was of God He would have left some evidence for it in a historical form, but there is NONE! The Spirit of God was NOT at work here! And if thats the case, it means another spirit (demonic) was at work. What does the Bible say about things of this nature? Job 14:4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one. Psalms 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? James 3:12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. We need to think about something: If the practice of speaking in tongues as Pentecostals/Charismaniacs claim is Biblical, we need to get on the same page as them. If it is NOT Biblical, however, we need to be rebuking these people for spreading lies and deceiving others through the false spirit that is operating through them. There is no room for a grey area here! Luke 6:44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. What has been the fruit of these supposed tongues? Has it made the Church more holy overall? Has it lead people to Christ? Or has it done nothing but cause confusion? Has it made the people of God look like a circus side show? Have you ever taken a look at TBN? Just LOOK at some of these people who are promoting speaking in tongues! And, among all the sects of pseudo Christianity, are not the Pentecostals/Charismaniacs the most deceived when it comes to things like sound doctrine, end times current events, whats really going on in the world, resistance to tyranny, false teachers, etc? In all reality, all I need to do is look at the ORIGINS of this practice and the ROTTEN FRUIT it has produced to know its not of God! But, thanks be to God, we have even MORE to go on from His Word, which makes it clear that the practice of tongues is not, never was, and never will be babbling off some foolishness! If this comes across as harsh, Im sorry. But as Ive stated, if this is not from God, then it is from Satan. And clearly, those who refuse to yield to Biblical truths and spread lies and deceive others need to be rejected after they are reasoned with. Titus 3:10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; Am I saying that all of these people are not saved? Absolutely not. I was caught up in this garbage to at one point, for years. I can relate to some who are caught up in it. However, after all of these truths were brought to my attention, I had to let go of how I felt about the whole thing and yield to the truth. It meant admitting I was deceived. It meant putting away all of the emotional garbage that is attached to Pentecostalism/Charismania. It meant doing what I could to make sure others did not go down the same deceptive path. This foolishness almost completely destroyed my walk with Christ. Apart from His grace, Id have been stuck in the same deceptive cycle that so many who follow this page seem to be stuck in. That is why we DONT CARE if we offend people over it, lose followers, etc. Our lives as Christians is not a popularity contest.
