1. Why do you think Hazel is so fond of reading fiction? One way of the other is that Hazel reads fiction to kill time but its kind of something deeper that generally reading for her is a form of solitary moment. She wanted to be alone. But this is the thing to be understood. When Hazel reads, she actually entering into a new world invented by the author, a world that no one knows she has a cancer. The life owned by Hazel is tragically mesirable with family suffering from finances and energy and friends watching them doing whatever they wanted to is frustrating as it seems for a cancer patient finding time for an scape. 2. When An Imperial Affliction ended, Hazel wants to know what happen next to its remaining characters. For you what is the reason? One of the major characters of An Imperial Affliction mentioned is Anna who had a leukemia, a cancer in the blood and died at the end of the story. Hazel related herself to Anna, unlike her, she lives. What would happen next to the remaining characters where their life revolved in a cancer victim is also Hazels question to herself. What will happen to her parents, friend Kaitlyn, her extended family in Support Group and most importantly Gus when Death has set the date of their meeting in this very evening? This is maybe the reason. Hazel is afraid if her death will cause great pain to her parents that they will live in a world without Hazel Grace Lancarsten so the family will never be a happy one. 3. How does cancer affect Hazels life? Hazel stop schooling. Its embarassing for her seeing people normally breathe that incessantly reminded her ill body. She thinks the same thing at home. Whenever her parents care too much, she yells and shouts as loud as she can like a grenade any minute will be blown up as what she believes (but thank that she didnt pack her bag). That is the worst part about having cancer sometimes. The physical evidence of disease seperates you from other people she said. This is difficult everyday to live your life painfully that people think you might die any second and what they can do is to give you compassion alone. In Abraham Maslows Heirarchy of needs triangle, Hazel stated that never she will attain love and respect as she never meet healthy life because each need must be attained before going to the next level and she is stucked in the second. It indicates that she is less human and most people agreed she added. Happily, her parents never lose the hope and keep encouraging up to live her life like other people that they love her and its more she would receive than pain. Oh the bright side of Hazels life. 5. What came to you when Gus asked Peter to write a eulogy for Hazel? For readers know that Hazel was eager of finding out what happen next to the remaining characters of An Imperial Affliction that some of major events were generated were generated from this which got the idea to pick the most ideal way to be remembered. Gus feared oblivion so this is how he wanted to be remembered. He left a legacy for his love that dying is worth as long as Hazel most importantly remembers him. The marks humans leave are too often scars... he stated. In this way, we are to ponder the eulogy will be of Guss expression oem his love, compassion and faithfulness that she will remember it forever. 4. On page 85, Hazel lived twice as long as Van Houtens daughter. In what way she lived twice? What he wouldnt have given to have a kid died at sixteen? Hazel asked. What she must be fortunate is she lived twice as long as Van Houtens daughter in the way she experienced a life similar to normal people, do shopping, hanging out with Kaitlyn, gone for a trip and that she always find time to read to think, appreciate and be moved of real life stories. We cannot avoid of thinking that Hazel has a mesirable life always when she feels as the grenade of the family but she survived. Its not the 33rd half number of her existence she accomplished we count but what she did during her entire life, being strong to fight death for life. Thats amazing.
