1 dies, 11 Injured in road accidents Police said that one person died while thirteen others were injured in different road accidents across the Kashmir Valley. In a statement on Monday, police said that a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK05/6712 and an Ecco vehicle bearing registration number JK01S/9684 collided at Palpora, Pattan, Three persons were injured in the mishap. All the injured were shifted to the hospital where Showkat Ahmad Shah son of Abdul Ahad resident of Lar, Ganderbal succumbed to his injuries. Shawkat was the spokesman of newly launched Awmai Ittehad Party (AIP) led by Independent lawmaker, Er Rashid. A Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK05C/3144 skidded of the road at Powdian Baramulla in the jurisdiction of police station Uri, resulting in injuries to two passengers. Both the injured have been shifted to District Hospital, Baramulla for treatment. Two motorcycles bearing registration number JK01M/4996 and JK04C/2289 collided at Chew Dara Crossing, Budgam, in Beerwah, resulting in injuries to both the motorcyclist , Umar Wani son of Ghulam Rasool resident of Kulhama and Tanveer Ahmad son of Mohammad Ramzan resident of Hangam. The injured have been shifted to JVC Hospital, Srinagar for treatment. A Maruti Car bearing registration number JK09/5248 turned turtle near Petrol Pump, Bathergam, Kupwara, resulting in injuries to four persons travelling in the car. The injured have been shifted to Sub District Hospital, Kupwara for treatment. A Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK02W/6761, turned turtle at Sagam, Islamabad in Kokernag, resulting in injuries to three passengers. All the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.
