10 18 2013 Day 351 I took my list of notes from listening and did edits for a few hours today. I removed some minor characters and took out things that worked but I thought added little and nudged the story a bit crooked for no good reason. It wasnt that they were bad they were just not needed. So if you are looking for the evil sheriff you wont find him. He only lasted 3 paragraphs and helped frame the attitude for a town/area/people but I think I had that set up covered pretty well anyway. I was explaining a bizarre character though examples of how her kids acted, a general state of collapse in that family. It worked and added some funny stuff but the expectation that the kids are like the parents runs counter to one of the themes. Plus it wasnt need to flesh her out. I could get the point across otherwise. She was over 60 years old and did stuff 16oz cans of malt liquor into her bra when doing a road trip. I think I made my point.
