10 EARLY BLUES Pioneers that you should know...2 Eddie James (Son House) Jr. 1902 – 1988 His early path was that of a church preacher, until he was lead astray by the Blues at age 25. After a brief incarceration at Parchman Farm Penitentiary, he accompanied Charley Patton to engagements and a 1930 recording session for Paramount Records. Son House and Willie Brown are known for their harsh rebuking of Robert Johnson who left to eventually study with Ike Zimmerman. Want to learn this style?
