$10 each - watering can $10 too - I love soil - I made this soil – I wanted to keep it local and natural (as wild as possible) I hiked up to get dry alluvial (These aged deposits of sediment are said to be the best) soil in the summer and at a lower elevation went into the river with a shovel. Great pebbles to aid root penetration and get air in there etc. I got clay from yet another river - small amounts broken up and spread out - for water retention in the drier months. I added compost of course and worm castings and lamb manure - Sand from Kennedy Lake for good drainage and aeration and good clean ash (high pH) from the campfire to offset the acidic west coast condition etc. Local Peat moss was added for moisture retention and texture and put in dolomite lime for balance. the photos taken yesterday so as is - some kale and oriental greens already growing
