10 things you may not know about me. Expanded from the 6 things because well I was given the number 4 as well, and was told to write 10 by someone else. The first 6 are the previous list (with some additions) so you can skip them if you saw them. 10. I do a webcomic (quite a few people in my list arent aware of that... shocking!). It was a desire as a child to become a cartoonist which the internet age has helped make a reality. Its not too shabby either if I do say so myself which I do because I have to. 9. I had an older brother but he was murdered many years ago. My father died the following year (and I spent a year ignoring him while struggling to figure out how to talk to him... which never happened). My mom is all that is left of my immediate family. 8. I have a hard time getting close to someone though I can become friends with just about anyone easily enough. Even when I become close to someone I can still remain difficult to know offering little of my own inner self. I am a great listener which can make some people fail to realize I am not much for revealing myself. 7. I fear dying alone more than anything but I am mostly certain I will due to the truth of number 4. I often think about how my brother was murdered alone and how my father essentially died alone which does nothing for my fear. My bedroom is where he died in... I watched the Grudge one night and had thoughts of him being all Grudge-like, clicking and stuff... whole different fear really. 6. If I could leave here (Hamilton) I would move to Alberta/BC to live somewhere among the mountains and forests. I was never so at peace as I was when I went to the mountains this past June. 5. I have an overwhelming desire to write an epic fairy tale, a work of fantasy about a world in the style of Oz or Narnia. I find very few fantasy stories to be written with a distinct purpose. The Lord of the Rings, Peter and Wendy, the Neverending Story, the Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the Chronicles of Narnia, etc., all reflect a purpose that is more than a bunch of stuff happened to people and people got better for it. They are stories you can go back to and see something deeper each time. That is what I want to write but on that Lord of the Rings scale. 4. I never finished High School. In fact I dropped out twice before succumbing to major depression and social anxiety (which wouldnt be properly identified until years later). This surprises some people though I dont exactly understand why. I think I show the lack of education personally. 3. I often fall asleep listening to recordings of thunder storms. There is nothing that relaxes me more than a severe storm. I especially love being in a car, at night, during a storm. 2. I am deathly afraid of heights AND enclosed spaces (the two together, not separate). So elevators, balconies, those stupid ass metal fire escapes, and most definitely airplanes. This is why in order to go out to Edmonton the past two years I have had to go by train. If I ever want to go to Europe I will have to go by boat or find someone to convince me to go by plane with them. Also I have an insane fear of wasps and earwigs... This past month my house was invaded by wasps (as many as 20 a day were being killed)... thankfully they have seemed to died out for the winter. 1. In order to be comfortable I need to be cold or at least coolish. In the winter, when I can, I will sleep with the window open. I absolutely hate heat. Heat makes me feel like I being suffocated.
