When I was at TOSU we used card catalogs, globes, chalk boards, word processors and stood in line at the computer lab to use this new thing being tried out on campus called the world wide web...useless I thought. #stillheartdeweydecimal Now you have the world at your finger tips while youre sitting in bed and its a beautiful thing. Still, youve grown up expecting to push buttons and get answers. Now people will push your buttons and you need to know how to answer without consulting Wikipedia. Let technology guide you but not lead you. Use the medium to create inspiration and collect information. Revel in the possibilities but never waiver in your vigilance over what to put out into the world because it does not go away. Do not succumb to thinking technology the expert or authority on anything without real data. Understand a social platform is a place to stand on and jump off of--know when to stand and when to jump. While technology can be a great tool for communicating ideas and feelings, you still need materials and supplies to build relationships and college is as much about that skill as anything. (#37)
