11/10 - 12/10 Alzheimer’s disease is the fifth-leading cause of death in women, and the tenth in men. Where did this come from? It is hard to explain but the old sayings: you are what you eat; garbage in, garbage out are so true. When did we begin seeing this massive increase in older individuals developing the symptoms of Alzheimer’s (disorientation, confusion, inability to learn and remember)? When the national obsession with cutting the fat from our diets began in the late 70’s into the 80’s and the massive shift toward fat free-simple carbohydrates began. This shift in diet led to a spike in Type 2 Diabetes, obesity and eventually the sky rocketing cases of Alzheimer’s disease we see today! The key contributors to the increased cases of Alzheimer’s disease (1) Nutritional Deficiencies (2) Food Additives (3) Toxic Cells (4) decrease in insulin sensitivity. The key to disease prevention is how you feed the cells of your body which determines the strength of your immune system. Eat a whole food plant based diet, exercise regularly and that the best supplements your budget can afford!!! articles.mercola/sites/articles/archive/2012/09/24/poor-diet-causes-alzheimers-disease.aspx
