One thing I have truly observe is the fact that we believe so much in what we can do for ourself than what God could do for us. Todays woman would have not acted like the Shunemite woman. She would have first raised alarm to attract her husbands attention and the sympathy of their neighbours. But this woman carried her only child and convinced her husband that he was just sleeping. That woman moved Gods heart even before Elisha prayed for her dead son. How does her action concerns us today? Many things would not have become tragedies if we had trusted God first. Many women would tell you that they dont have time to wait for God. A young lady said to me, Im not a church girl and I dont care how I solve my problems. The last time I saw her, she was still helpless and depressed with many problems she couldnt handle on her own. You cant beat God leaving Him out of your life. Prayer protects our destiny. One time, a lady told us that something happened in her life and ever since then, she prays first before trusting anything else. She said that she missed an interview and when she reported to the place the next day, she was told that it was over. She couldnt take it. She asked for their rest room. She got in there and spent time praying violently. And as she came out from there, the same man that asked her to leave called her and began to question her on something. And after that, he said to her, You seem to be in best position to work with us That was how she got the job. I have heard many women of faith tell me about being fervent in prayer. Its not just praying but praying and believing. Most people pray and still trust men than God. Somebody once said that he cannot do anything with me. I heard and smiled. It took me few weeks of prayers and when next we met, he was smiling at me and asked that we see that day. At the end, he vowed that only me will do his contract and no one else. We never discussed any contract at that moment but he brought it in as a conclusion of our discussion. Nothing is a weight when you put it on faith. Prayer is not just asking God for something. Its trusting Him for everything. That what prayer should be. You cannot trust God and trust men at the same time. Decide where you put your trust.
