(12) -to promote the unity and solodarity of african states -to co-ordinate and intensify their co- operattion and efforts to achieve a better life for the people of africa -to defend their sovereignty, territorial integegrity and independence -to eradicate all forms of colonialism from africa -to preserve the african personality, culture and traditions -to speak with one voice on world affairs so as to present a united front. (7) i. It served as the first ever consitution in Nigeria ii. It gave special impetus to political activities which led to the formation of political parties iii. It started the process and prepared Nigerians for self government iv. It also witnessed the birth of newspaper in Nigeria
