12:45pm: The House is now debating the repeal of the mining tax. Shadow Treasurer Chris Bowen says the reasons for Labor rejecting the bill have not changed. They have only increased. He also points out that if the mining tax isnt raising enough money then, how is it damaging the mining industry. 1:11pm: We are expecting the House to pass the carbon tax repeal today (it can even sit later than normal if it needs to do that). But the vote in the Senate wont happen toot sweet. The bills will go to the Environment and Communications Legislation Committee, which will not report back until July 14.
