12 years ago on Easter we had a litter of puppies from our Chocolate Lab Coco. There was lots of complications with that litter from a genetic issue in Coco. Many of the puppies were not making it. I would try desperately to get them breathing but with no success. There was one I worked on for at least 10 minutes and finally thought there was no hope. I was walking her out to my husband and thought I was going crazy thinking that she had made a squeak. I looked closely at her and 1/2 her tongue was pink. (it had been all grey). I started blowing in her nose and mouth again and rubbing her. She came to life before my eyes...I couldnt give her up. We named her Lucky Lucy. She was the sweetest black Lab. Today, the day before Easter....we had to say goodbye. A severe respiratory issue was taking that breath away. Its something how much these fur babies mean to us. Lucy will be missed and loved always.
