#13: EMPEROR Matthew Fox stars as a general who goes to Japan with Gen MacArthur (Tommy Lee Jones) just after the Japanese surrender in WW2. Foxs job is try and round up all the hostile generals and aid MacArthur in stabilizing Japan into a new regime. The movie is part historical and partly focuses on Foxs love affair with a Japanese girl. I have always been fascinated with Japan and the culture. So this was a must see for me. The movie is quite slow and meanders all over the place like it is not sure what story it wants to tell. It is the perfect example of a missed opportunity.
