13 March, 2014 - Growth or no growth? Theory U is now influencing more people I work with, than ever before. Its really picking up a momentum and its more wide-spread adoption is a true delight to witness. And Otto Scharmer is still a revolutionary to many, particularly with his belief that growth is no longer a viable goal for any enterprise or organisation - based on the evidence that the more we grow and the more we take away from the earth, in order to grow - and be stronger, bigger and better. If you look at it objectively, there really isnt any point in growth any more, it no longer makes sense to desire and fuel growth - I know, it will likely take Goldman Sachs and their club of friends another few generations to grasp this, or, maybe not. So, if we dont aim for growth, what do we aim for instead? I was training with my guys in Brighton on compassion again this week and the concept of blossoming was proposed. Yeah, plants dont need to be stronger, bigger and better to blossom. And we are truly like plants, we need to grow to start with and, then, we simply need to blossom. Thats really, for me, the only purpose of being here. And we all know that the blossoming does not come from the acquisition of more things and more commercial experiences but by sharing and giving. So, as John C. Parkin would say here: F**k growth. Lets just aim for blossoming instead.
