13 years tomorrow and I remember it like it happened yesterday. I - TopicsExpress

13 years tomorrow and I remember it like it happened yesterday. I was a young Airman in the Unite States Air Force Security Forces and stationed at Minot AFB, ND. Not even in a year yet and waiting on a security clearance, I was sitting in a dorm that morning. After the first tower hit, I was tuned into CNN. While watching the reports come in, I saw the second tower hit. This left me standing there thinking to myself what is going on and in a state of disbelief. Within the next hour after the second tower was hit, I called my dad at work in NJ multiple times letting him know in the first phone call that we were in Force Protection Condition Alpha and letting him know in the last phone call that we were in Force Protection Condition Delta, that our nation was indeed under attack. The events that took place that morning, the morning of September 11, 2001 forever changed our nation and our way of life. I do believe the acts of those few cowards did make us stronger as nation. If we stand together, stand united as a nation, they will never take our freedom and our liberty. God bless those who lost their lives in those horrific attacks. God bless the NYPD and the FDNY who lost so many doing what they do. God bless the families who were affected one way or another by those attacks. And finally, God Bless our troops who have shed blood, sweat, and tears for the next 10 plus years following the attacks. Everyone of you has a place in my heart, especially those who paid the ultimate sacrifice...I would give anything to be back in the fight with you and I live with that every day. The threat is still there and its real. Always beware of your surroundings and watch your six. Its not much but its my story. God Bless America! #9-11-01
