131940 - Priority Alert Tropical Cyclone Ita TC Ita is forecast to move southeast during the next 24 hours and is expected to maintain tropical cyclone intensity. Please note: the Bruce Highway is currently closed at multiple locations from Burdekin River north due to flooding. Information is updated as roads close and open, however the safety of our staff always remains our priority. In the far north TMR staff are monitoring road conditions and, as the weather is improving and it is safe, our crews are out assessing damage and clearing debris, conducting road and bridge inspections and working to restore access. The Bureau of Meteorology advise flood warnings are current for coastal rivers and adjacent inland streams between Townsville and Yeppoon and coastal and range areas between Rollingstone and Mackay are likely to experience strong winds and heavy rain which may lead to flash flooding. Delays and closures are possible and water may be over roads.
