13th Jan Shalom! Not By Works Rom 4:2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath [whereof] to glory; but not before God. 3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Abraham continued to appreciate God for bringing him on board. He was Justified by believing the promise of God and not by his observance of the TORAH(Law of Moses). In other words, there was no law given at the time of Abraham that was to be binding on him, yet he was considered righteous before God. To justified means to be declared innocent or guiltless or faultless. However, in reality Abraham made a lot of mistakes in life, yet all of his sins were never counted against him because, there was no Torah for him to obey; but God was still comfortable with him. Glory to God! Gen 12:12 Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they shall say, This [is] his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive. 13 Say, I pray thee, thou [art] my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee. Abraham ordered Sarah to lie in order to spare his life, Yet God declared him innocent. Gen 20:2 And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She [is] my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah. Once more he lied to Abimelech that Sarah is his sister, yet Abraham remained guiltless before God. Gen 16:2 And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the Lord hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai. Again, Abraham listened to his wife rather than listen to God and he slept with his wifes maid to have a child by her. And he was still innocent. A religious teacher may easily say to us that it is a Divine Plan that are never now to ever be justifiable because may be God has change isnt? I gave it a serious consideration as I studied and made some research about this matter on why God just ignored the sins or errors of Abraham yet, religious folks tells us that every of our weaknesses must be considered and will be used against us on the day of Judgement. Is the God of Abraham different from ours? Why then are we children of Abraham? Some one may quickly say: but the Israelis were punished for their sins and God said so in the Bible; Correct, but Dear reader, they had the Torah, Abraham hadnt. And according to the demands of Torah, they had to be punished. And we like Abraham also hadnt Torah! Why should we be treated any different? Why should we be treated so harshly going by the teachings of the religious teachers? My findings: 1- Abraham hadnt any Law to that effect that he might be judged by it. So in the absence of the law, he is not guilty. Rom 4:15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, [there is] no transgression. 2- Abraham had a clear conscience before God believing that what he did was not sinful and so it became for him. Rom 14:22 Hast thou faith? have [it] to thyself before God. Happy [is] he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. 3 Abraham was blessed by God, and whosoever is blessed of God, his errors, God never counts against him. Rom 4:7 [Saying], Blessed [are] they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. 4- Abraham was in the dispensation of Grace where promotion and credit is given not based on merit but on mercy. Rom 9:15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.16 So then [it is] not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. At this point, I began to see the reason why God promised never to remember our sins anymore who have been saved by his Grace. Surprised? Sounds Sacrilegious? Jer 31:33 But this [shall be] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. But pastor Godson, the law is still in effect till date. No sir, its not! It ended when Christ died. Torah was fulfilled and brought to an end by Jesus to open a new and the very former way of the dispensation of Abraham for us. Rom 10:4 For Christ [is] the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. If you dont believe, hold-on Dear. As for me, I believe so the law ends for me though it continues with you. In concussion. just as in the days of Abraham when his sins were ignored, because he was a man of faith who believes his God to justify him, we also are found in a dispensation where the law is in-effective and because there is no law to guide us, we depend on the Spirit of God by faith to guide us, so we are innocent for every other thing but the Spirit. Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. We are in an era of Gods mercy: Mt 12:7 But if ye had known what [this] meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Gal 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, [it is] evident: for, The just shall live by faith. Gal 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness [come] by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY To justified means to be declared innocent or guiltless or faultless. However, in reality Abraham made a lot of mistakes in life, yet all of his sins were never counted against him because, there was no Torah for him to obey; but God was still comfortable with him. Glory to God! MARANATHA! May Gods unfailing Grace, abound to you in all areas of your life like it did for father Abraham, that you may excel in life above every of your fellow In Jesus Name.
