14 AUG 14 The Spartans are completing the FLX testing lanes - TopicsExpress

14 AUG 14 The Spartans are completing the FLX testing lanes successfully. Each of the lanes consist of giving a mission briefing called an Operation Order (Op-Order), then leading a squad to the objective of the mission and completing actions on the objective. The Op-Order has five major parts. Those parts cover the Situation that will be encountered, the Mission that needs to be accomplished, how the mission will be Executed, Sustainment of equipment and supplies, and Command and Control of the element participating in the mission. After the Operation Order is been briefed the mission is then executed by the Spartan who is being tested. There is a level of difficulty experienced by the officer candidates when conducting this training. When the Spartans throw themselves into the situation, like any good officer, their best comes out when under the pressure and stress. The actions of the Candidates before, then during they take lead, gives credit to their innate ability to be leaders. For those who are not participating in the testing lanes maintain the Base of Operations. For many of the Candidates this is the first time that they have had the responsibility of maintaining more then their own equipment in a field environment. A lot of unseen work goes into making a Operating Post and Camp run. The experience that is gained here by the Spartans will be used in their time as 2nd Lieutenants and later as Executive Officers.
