15 Days to election... Dear Alonzo Vargas and Candidates: I am writing to confirm that we are all set for Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 12:30 p.m., for your interview with the News-Times Editorial Board at the News-Times office, 333 Main Street, Danbury. News-Times Managing Editor Jacqueline Smith and I are looking forward to meeting with you. I will greet all three of you in the front lobby of our office a little before 12:30, and I will escort you to have your photo taken by a member of our photo staff. We will then go to our conference room for the Editorial Board interview. As I mentioned to each of you on the phone, the session will run for about an hour. The format will be as follows: * Each of you will have the opportunity to make a brief opening statement providing a quick overview of your priorities and your position on key issues. * Jacky and I will ask a number of questions. Each of you will have the chance to answer each one. Responses will not be timed, but each of you will be given a fair amount of time to make your comments. * Each of you will have the chance to ask one question of your two opponents. * Each of you will be given the opportunity to make a closing statement.
