16 years ago this morning started out in a damp, foggy Safford Notch. The climb up Avery Peak was steep and wet. By the time wed made the summit, however, it was clear and beautiful. It was a quick downhill in to town and lunch was cooked by somebody else. The evening...16 years ago this evening...included a conversation with my sister ( Tracy Davis) telling me shed killed my cat, a conversation with my grandfather saying Boy, that sounds like fun and a steak dinner with Jay Platt while he hit on a transvestite. It also included me avoiding, mostly successfully, a very annoying Beorn. All the pictures I took in this section were lost before I ever saw them, unfortunately.
