17 December 2014 Warrego Highway and Brisbane Valley intersection upgrade Warrego Highway and Brisbane Valley Highway intersection upgrade – Project update The Warrego Highway and Brisbane Valley Highway Intersection Upgrade is drawing closer to completion with benefits of this important safety upgrade already being enjoyed by thousands of road users daily. The majority of works on the Warrego Highway and Brisbane Valley Highway Intersection Upgrade were completed in November 2014, allowing the operating speed on the Warrego Highway to be raised to 100km/h. Prior to this in the last couple of months the Tom Fountain overpass has been in place enabling a safer cross-motorway connection and the associated on and off-ramps for westbound traffic have been operational. For the remainder of 2014, there will be some minor works carried out along the Brisbane Valley Highway as part of the site clean-up before the Christmas break. There will be no construction activity between 19 December 2014 and 5 January 2015. In early 2015, there are some expected additional works around the intersection just south of the Tom Fountain overpass which will affect the Brisbane Valley Highway and the Warrego Highway eastbound on and off-ramps. The operating speed of the Warrego Highway is expected to remain unchanged. These works are expected to be carried out during the day time, minor disruptions and some lane closures can be expected. Some night works may be required to minimise the impact to the travelling public. Traffic control will be in place to ensure the safety of pedestrians, workers and motorists. All works are subject to weather and construction conditions.
