17 years ago I started as a guy who just wanted to help with a few dogs at a shelter. I became obsessed, soaked up as much dog behavior info as I could and then became a dog trainer. Over the years Ive tried to branch out into different areas so not to become skewed in one area of dog training. So Ive experienced SAR, Sport, rescue, shelter,general scent work, a scant amount of protection, pet dog training and so on. In each arena the passion I see in each area is impressive, but the critical scrutiny from each can be tiresome. For 15 years, my weekends, evenings and conversations have been filled with this passion. Unfortunately, my passion is no longer there and I think in the near future I will take a prolonged break from - the dog world. To me there are more than enough self proclaimed dog experts out there in all the different vocations. I think I will just go back to the guy 17 years ago, who just wanted to walk a few dogs.
