17 years ago today we lost the man who was one of my primary spiritual mentors and who had one of the greatest influences on my life. I only meet Rich Mullins twice and both were long enough to shake his hand, but his music and his teaching and his life had as much to do as anyone else with me going into ministry work. It is his teachings and music that still, to this day have as much theological impact on me as any other musician, writer or person. Anyone who tries to tell me that God no longer speaks to us...that the scriptures were the last words...all I have to do is point at Richs music, his words and his life.
