Also, David Bowie and the Spiders From Mars make their debut at NY`s Carnegie Hall. 1973 - Deep Purple`s "Smoke On The Water," a song about a Swiss casino burning down, goes gold. 1976 - Peter Frampton`s "Baby, I Love Your Way," from "Frampton Comes Alive" peaks at #12
