As priorities change, and due to not having enough time for the car, up for regretful sale is my Nugget Gold 11/70 XY GT. I have owned this car since 1999 and have poured my heart and soul into its meticulous nut and bolt restoration. No expense was spared. N.O.S. parts have been used where possible. Car has been completely paint stripped and sandblasted (only in areas that cannot be effectively done with paint stripper), and completely painted inside and out with period perfect acrylic metallic Nugget gold (Code 9) as per the compliance plate. Weeks were spent just lining up the panels, I would say this GT has probably the best panel fit I have ever seen. All panels are as straight as an arrow. The car had been restored on a rotisserie so the underneath has been completely stripped and restored. with all new brake and fuel lines bent up as original. Reset six leaf springs, Pedders front coils and Pedders shocks all round. New tie-rod ends, balljoints and rebuilt 16:1 manual steering box as well as new rubber bushes all round. The 9 Diff has been completely sand blasted and rebuilt with a nice cruisy 3.25 ratio, new universal joints and U-bolts fitted. The original top loader 4speed manual has been completely rebuilt with all new syncros and cogs from a mixture of 4 boxes to get the best condition ones available. The 351 Clevo (not the original D block unfortunately) has been completely machined, 30thou over, flat top forged pistons (12:1 compression) machined 4V closed chamber heads, (hardened seats to run unleaded 98) new electronic spitfire dizzy, standard cast iron intake, standard GT exhaust manifolds, with a rare N.O.S. Holley 780vac secondary, manual choke (GTHO phase 3) carb, original shaker, base and snorkel. All applicable nuts, bolts and brackets were cad plated as per original, others zinc plated or painted. Bumpers, Indicators, door handles, seat adjusters have all been re-chromed to as new condition. All stainless trims have been hand polished and straightened, with N.O.S. lenses (Lucas) fitted. The immaculate black interior is near faultless, original superfringe AM radio with new single speaker, new dashpad, new seat frames and trim front and rear, new carpet, hoodlining, re-calibrated gauges, restored original dash, console and wheel, new lenses and door trims, new seatbelts (front) Restored 14x6 5 slot wheels with new caps and trims and it still has the original red wall tyre on the original 5 slot wheel in the boot!!! A few minor spares will be included as well. This car is advertised elsewhere and I reserve the right to take it down at anytime. $70,000 FIRM (including number plates!) no offers or swaps... and yes, the cig lighter has never been used.
