1st Alumni Meet and Seminar on Library Development in Odisha: Past, Present and Future Organized by Alumni Association and Department of Library and Information Science, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar Date – 14-15.02.2015 About Us: The Department of Library and Information Science (DLIS), Utkal University (UU), Bhubaneswar was established in 1981. By now it has completed 33 years of its existence and produced thousands of students working all over India and other parts of the world in different capacities. By the untiring efforts of a bend of dedicated teachers, the department could rise to the occasions by providing teaching and research facilities attracting students from all over India. The department had also organized several national level seminars, conferences, workshops, Refresher courses and many meetings from time to time taking leadership in this region. It also received a good score in NAAC assessment. The alumni association has been established since 2006 to support the department in various activities relating to professional developments and teaching programmes. It provides a platform to discuss various issues of the profession rendering its invaluable support in giving back to its alma mater in the best way possible. Now this is the occasion for the alumni to hold its 1st Alumni meet followed by a seminar on “Library Development in Odisha: Past, Present and Future” in collaboration with department of library and Information Science, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. In this context all the alumni of the department and other library professionals are requested to send their original papers on any one of the topics given below to have overall picture of library development in the state and its future vision. The original papers should reach in softcopy to alumni.dlis.uu@gmail by 20th December 2014. Selected articles will be published in a book form with ISBN number. Scholarly Publishing in Odisha - An analysis of Research Papers AUTHOR GUIDELINES FOR PAPER SUBMISSION Author Guidelines for paper Submission All Authors are requested to send their articles electronically, through email ID: alumni.dlis.uu@gmail Author(s) are requested to use following format: Format of Manuscript All papers should be typed on Microsoft Word-version. Paper size should be A4, Portrait of size 8.5 x 11 with Margins: 1 (top & bottom); 1.5(left & right) All text should be typed in Arial or Times New Roman Font with size 12 and single-spaced. Headings and subheadings must be in Bold font, left justified and numbered according to Level of heading as below: 1. First Level Heading 1.1 Second Level Heading 1.1.1 Third Level Heading Header & Footer of font size 8. Use double space after the headings, before starting the next paragraph. Page Break can be given to give a logical end to a page. The main title of your paper must not exceed 50 characters. This includes letters, spaces and punctuation. Title should be followed by name, affiliation and address of the Author(s) An abstract of length not more than 250 words should be supplied. Few keywords must be given after the abstract. Size of the paper to be kept within 5000 words. All papers must be accompanied by one passport size color photograph together with a brief CV. Illustrations such as photographs, charts, graphs, drawings, and diagrams should be labeled, so that they correspond with their mention in the text (e.g. Table-1, Figure-2, Diagram-3). Guidelines for references Provide the list of references at the end of the paper in sequence as per the guidelines and the examples suggested.
