2-13 Friends and Family, The results of the company competition - TopicsExpress

2-13 Friends and Family, The results of the company competition for the Basic Training for New Army Families will be announced later this evening when I have the time to upload the results. In the meanwhile, we just want to express our sincere gratitude for everyone that participated! While your loved ones were at Fort Jackson learning to be Soldiers you were at home learning to be Army strong families. The competition is merely an incentive to encourage you to do the training. We will declare an official winner later today, but the real reward is the knowledge that you have gained through the training. So no matter the results, each of you can be proud that you did your part! We understand there will be 5 companies that will be disappointed today as there will only be 1 winner, but learning to successfully negotiate through these situations is a must for the Army family! You will deal with situations like this one often as an Army family. When the promotion list comes out and your spouse is on it, but your best friends spouse is not, you must learn to be gracious and humble. When the promotion list comes out and your best friends spouse is on it, but yours isn’t, you must still be gracious and humble. Empowered, resilient, and self- reliant Army families have mastered this! Not easy to do I promise, but that is the true spirit of the Army family! It really is just how we roll! Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Integrity, and Personal Courage……sound familiar? The 7 Army Values that you learned in lesson one and your Soldiers learned on day one! These aren’t just words. They are the cornerstone by which all successful Army careers and Army families are built! Please keep them in mind when the results are announced and make your Soldiers proud in your responses. If you didn’t have a chance to do the training you still can! It won’t count towards the competition of course, but this training can be done even after BCT is over. If you completed the training and turned in a certificate after the deadline we cannot count it towards the competition, but we are proud of you for completing it and your Soldier will be too! A sincere thank you for giving this program another successful cycle!!! This was piloted by 2-13 and you are the 3rd cycle to complete it! There are now 6 other Basic Training Battalions on Fort Jackson that have adopted it as well, but 2-13 paved the way and EACH OF YOU made it possible! FORTY ROUNDS!!!! ~Tina/Jenny and the rest of the 2-13 FRG *PS. If I had the time right now I would post the results, but I don’t! Just a little while longer! I will post them as soon as I can! ~Tina
