2 Corinthians 9:2 & 6-7 (vs 2) For I know your eagerness to help, you were ready to give and your enthusiasm has stirred most of them to action. (vs 6-8) Remember this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Giving is of the heart and although we wont all be able to give of the same magnitude we should not compare unto one another, as our calling is not how much we give but if we give with a cheerful heart. Only God can see out hearts. Is my heart always cheerful when I know I used to be able to give much more in my youth when I worked more. Am I giving to the Lord in many areas of my harvest, already giving all He has asked of me, with my sacrifice of committing to being a single mom nine years ago and trusting Him with my time and how it is best spent!! Working extra hours vs being present as a mom. Its not how much we give but how our hearts reflect when we give. He can multiply the amount through our giving hearts. Money is never an easy thing to write about. I tried to find many other verses to write about this morning but these verses got to my heart. God has blessed me with a giving heart but He is teaching me through His word where my heart suffers in my giving. I had so much more to give in my younger years, before I was a mom. Now that I have less to give it is harder to give the amount that seems so small. I confess I have been a sad giver at times wishing it could be more. DO I doubt His power and magnitude. If He can multiply fish and bread He will multiply my gift He provided for me, to return to Him. I know what He calls me to give and I am not content being the women who gives all she has even thought it is so little. (Luke 21:1-4). She was happy to give all she had. I desire to be the same. Lord help me to be a cheerful giver!! Thank you for helping me to see that you multiple our gifts for your grand purpose and that my time being a mom with my daughter is more of what you have called me to do than to work more hours so I can feel good about giving more. I want to be content giving what you have called me to give. Help me Lord to be a cheerful giver as I may be equally grateful for how you take care of us when we give all we have!! Humble my heart oh Lord to enjoy where you have me in this stage of life as you multiple the harvest for us all!! Thank for father and please let your will be done in my life. ~ Amen ~ -Nicole Malloy #iholdthekeys
