2 Peter 3:17-18 “…be on guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter is a very short book written primarily to warn the early church about false teachers. However it may apply just as much today as it did back then. Since we are surrounded by and rooted in the knowledge of this world, it is often very difficult to recognize false teachers. As Peter warns, we are called to always be on guard and test what you hear. However, we can only do that if we are studying the Bible and praying for grace and knowledge, which the Lord will always give if we are sincerely seeking it. CatholicOrProtestant
