2. Why did jesus choose Caesarea philippi to reveal the church and its purpose. Philip the tetrarch, the son of Herod the Great, having rebuilt it, gave it the name of Cesarea in honour of Tiberius, the reigning emperor, and he added his own name to it, to distinguish it from another Cesarea on the coast of the Mediterranean,which was a city founded by king Herod in the first century BC. It walled city with the largest harbor on the eastern Mediterranean coast ,King Herod palace in the south.It become the seat of roman procurators of the provincia Judaea and headquarters of the 10th roman legion.In the 2nd and 3rd centuries the city expanded and became one the most important in the earthern part of the Roman Empire.This city was actual Roman in Isreal Mt.6:10. Just like Caesar Jesus want had a kingdom from Rome in Isreal that influence every sphere of the jew life-the power of the Roman kingdom was felt far away in the middle east. In the same way Jesus came with a kingdom from heaven that will rule the earth. Unfortunately the Roman empire fell after 700 years and Jesus Kingdom has last 2000 years over. 3. Jesus did not have religion or palce of worship though inclusive in mind went he was talk about church,he had Gen1:26,Hak2:14 in mind-reign and ruling ie dominion.
