2 weeks ago I stepped down off of the platform at church and felt something rip in my ankle. The next morning, I could barely walk on it. I went to the doctor who then referred me to an orthopedic surgeon. When the surgeon examined my foot, he asked me to stand up on my tip toes... first my right, then my left... I could stand on my right fine.... the left would not budge. This was a test to see if the Posterior Tibial Tendon is ruptured. The treatment is usually a tendon transfer from another part of the foot, followed by 8 weeks of crutches and several months of rehab. Needless to say, this took the wind out of my sails. First I was angry, then depressed, then disheartened. After I got through with all of that garbage, I began to pray along with my wife Mindy Albright Reid for healing after all, the creator of the universe should have no problem with a glorified rubber band right? To make a long story short, I visited a foot specialist this morning prepared to suck it up and endure surgery and rehab. I went through the same test again...first the right... success... then the left SUCCESS! The doctor twisted, pushed ,pulled, poked and prodded he found nothing wrong.... NO PAIN! GOD IS GOOD!!!!!
