20 years ago today my oldest had surgery at St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital. We were all still in shock knowing she had been diagnosed with cancer. She was 15 months old and we had known for a whole 5 days. She had her kidney removed with the tumor completely encased in it. From there our journey began. Chemo treatments, travel to St. Judes, lots and lots of doc appointments and now 20 years later, my little girl is two and a half weeks away from graduating from college. She is now officially 20 years cancer free from the cancer she was more than likely born with. We were blessed with a wonderful pediatrician, Dr. John Rhodes, who initially diagnosed her and sent her to St. Jude. We were then blessed for the next 17 years with the great staff at St. Jude. I am and always will be so thankful for Dr. Rhodes and St. Jude. Love you much Amber Trisler!
