2014 - PORT REPORT Apologies for the very long post but clubs tend to move quickly on list management and I wanted to post this before any changes happen. Now the season is over the club will look at the list and assess how to improve the team. This usually means the departure of several on the current list to make space for the search for new talent. I have given my own very brief view of each Power player in their number order and an area to improve for 2015. # 1. Travis Boak, Courageous captain who can influence games. Great leader. Offseason focus - To get better at breaking a tag. # 2. Cam Hitchcock No AFL game time this year. Too many small forwards on the list ahead of Hitchcock for him to get a game this year. Offseason focus - Not sure on his future for the Power? #3. Campbell Heath Bad injury ruined any chance of a game. Is a handy back up defender but unless there is big injury concerns in his position feel he may be waiting a while. Offseason focus - Keep training. Not sure on his future position? #4. Brent Renouf , Back up ruckman who was injured for most of the season. Seemed to struggle with what is required at AFL level before injury. Offseason focus - Most areas . Future looks shaky #5. Mathew Broadbent, Smart playmaker who knows what needs to get done to win games. Takes control of games from the back. Underrated. Offseason focus - keep it up Broady more of the same. #6. Angus Monfries, Can do amazing things when inspired but can go missing at times. Great at agitating defenders. Offseason focus - Work out how to have more of an overall impact on games not just in the forward 50. #7. Brad Ebert - Hard running tough midfielder. Excellent at finding space and a great tackler. Offseason focus - Decision making. Needs to think more before passing the ball by foot as his kicking can be wayward at times. #8. Hamish Hartlett - Natural talent who is getting better each year. Has a big kick on him. Can take games on now and makes good decisions. Offseason focus - Keep training hard. Getting better each year. #9. Robbie Gray - Brilliant player. A step above most. Offseason focus - Set shots #11. John Butcher - Can run and tackle well. Is tall. Offseason focus - Set shots. Really not sure what the future holds for Butcher? #12. Jackson Trengove - Structurally the most important player in the team. Is good in a variety of ways. Offseason focus - A bit more ruck practice. #13. Cam OShea - When given the chance has come along nicely. Can run from defense as well as stop tall forwards. Offseason focus - keep it up and I hope hes not traded. #14. Paul Stewart - Provides another forward option. Lacks a bit of match fitness due to limited AFL game time. Offseason focus - Keep training hard to try to break into the side. #15. Lewis Stevenson - Back up defender. Can play but not getting AFL game time. Offseason focus - Keep trying to break into the side. #16. Ollie Wines - Tough inside midfielder who can score goals. Strong body that can break tackles. Offseason focus - On track to improve again. Only 19. #17. Tom Clurey - Another tall defender. Tom has great run and strength but it will be tough breaking into a talent laden defense. Offseason focus - Keep learning the trade and training hard. #18. Kane Cornes - Legendary veteran of the Power. Can tag a player while still racking up possessions. Offseason focus - Defend the title of fastest 3km time trial. Mentor other players. #19. Matt White - Speedster with great goal sense. Proved hes as tough as they come playing with a fractured jaw. Offseason focus - Keep it up #20. Chad Wingard - Natural talent capable of amazing things when inspired. Offseason focus - Needs to be able to do these amazing things the whole game and every game. #21. Jared Polec - Great run and carry who can find gaps. Can also kick a goal. Offseason focus - Learn to be more confident and take the game on more #22. Mason Shaw - Tall forward learning the trade. Offseason focus - Keep it up. #24. Jarman Impey - Good small defender capable of running up the ground to provide rebound. Offseason focus - Keep learning all areas of defense. #25. Dominic Cassisi - Club legend. Thanks for all your fearless efforts Offseason focus - Relax #26. Andrew Moore - Big bodied midfielder capable of winning the ball from congestion. Offseason focus - Keep working on all areas to cement a spot. #27. Alipate Carlile - Key back with the strength to hold the biggest forwards. Has added a run from defense to help in clearing. Jasper Pittard - Creative defender who provides run and carry from defense. Offseason focus - Decision making and kicking under pressure. #30.
