2014/07/10 - remarkable Pinot Noir, lot 74, Santa Barbara County, 2008 I had this with a barbecued pork chop, fried potatoes, onions and mushrooms yesterday and it was delicious. I’m not usually a fan of Pinot Noir but this wasn’t too light and it perfectly complemented the excessively rich main course. It was 30C here yesterday so I dropped a couple of ice cubes into my glass and let them melt before I tasted this wine. Call me a heathen, but the ancient Greeks and Romans both considered drinking undiluted wine to be barbaric, so there.
