2014 JET Program Applications Now Available Deadline: November 26, 2013 The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program invites university graduates to participate in international exchange and foreign language education throughout Japan. Established in 1987, the program has earned a high reputation, both in Japan and overseas, for its efforts in youth and cultural exchanges, and has become one of the largest exchange programs in the world. Since the programs inception over 57,000 people have participated in the program. JET Program participants work as either Assistant Language Teachers (ALT) in public schools alongside Japanese teachers to introduce the English language and American culture; or as Coordinators for International Relations (CIR) in local government offices translating, interpreting and promoting international relations. The deadline applications must be received at the Embassy of Japan in Washington, DC is November 26, 2013 by 5:30 pm EST.
