2014; THE YEAR THAT WAS Duma Boko should be crowned the flamboyant person of the year, whilst the BCP’s Dumelang Saleshando would have the most harassed leader’s medal dangling around his neck. The biggest thieve of 2014 is…. Another year ends, and still, we dance and chant to Khama’s will. I postulate that should’ve the BCP joined the UDC, the BDP’s aphorism that there is still no alternative would’ve seen the light of day. BNF, a party that was a vanguard of the working class and peasants of this republic had been infiltrated. It is an open secret that some of the remnants of BNF of yester years are attesting that the party have veered off their social democratic programme. The UDC leadership has a capitalist tendency. They go around, without any shame, celebrating the very same political demagogues and tyrants who sold this republic to ‘fat cats’. Who can forget Masire-NDB saga? Our people are in the peripheries of these country’s wealth, whilst Mogae and his cronies live lavishly, swim and party whilst the rest of the country experiences power blackouts and water rationing. Yet, some political novice has the audacity to be Nasha’s praise poet. President Khama inherited most of the government’s devilish policies from his predecessors. In a country with a mere population of 2million and vast territorial boundary, we experience extreme ‘shortage of land.’ Some have been in the waiting period since the 90’s, long before Khama became president. And to some, Botswana was a haven before Khama. The media has been carrying bogus information about Saleshando’s business dealing with Khama, and yet none has authenticated the veracity of their gossip. What an apocryphal tale by our journalists. I am an exponent of unity, and as the BCP we would have no qualms with joining another social democratic movement or a leftist movement.
